A Day in the Life of an Entrepreneur: Two Memory Bears, One Precious Story
Share
Some projects stay with your heart long after you’ve finished the last stitch. These two Memory Bears are one of those projects for me. 💕
A customer in Texas reached out and trusted me with two shirts that belonged to her father, who had passed away just weeks before. She originally ordered one bear. When the shirts arrived in the mail, she asked whether I might be able to make two, if there was enough fabric. I carefully looked everything over, and I had the happiest news to share: there was enough for both!
Over the next three days, I carefully took apart the seams of the shirts, made both bears, and got them back in the mail to her. Working with clothing that carries so much love and memory is never just another sewing project. I felt truly honored that she chose me to make something she could hold close.
She’s expected to receive her bears on October 1. I sent her photos before shipping, and she told me she absolutely loves them already! I can hardly wait for her to see them in person.
Here are the two bears, made with care from her dad’s shirts. Each one is a little different, and each one carries a piece of his story. Thank you for trusting Nana HQ with something so precious. 💕
