A Day in the Life of an Entrepreneur: From a Foamy Mess to a Fresh Start at Nana’s Mini Mall! 💕

A Day in the Life of an Entrepreneur: From a Foamy Mess to a Fresh Start at Nana’s Mini Mall! 💕

Friends, let me tell you, bringing Nana’s Mini Mall to life has been anything but a straight line!

When I imagined my little 10×12 shop, I pictured shelves filled with things made with love, a welcoming place to browse, and a little piece of Nana HQ that I could share with you in person.

What I did NOT picture was that rough, foamy ceiling and a floor covered in bits of cleanup. Yet there we were!

From this spray foam mess:

These are the parts of building a small business that don’t always make it into the pretty pictures. Sometimes, before you can arrange the shelves, you have to clear the mess. And sometimes, just when things are starting to come together, you have to take a few steps backward.

After discovering roof leaks, I moved the shelves, desk, rug, and products out to protect them. It was disappointing to see the little shop emptied out again after watching it begin to feel real. But protecting what I’ve worked so hard to create mattered more than rushing toward an opening.

So, it was time to regroup and work toward a fresh start.

And now… look at the difference!

To this amazing transformation:

Display shelves arranged along the walls and in the center of Nana’s Mini Mall beneath the newly covered ceiling, with the checkout desk on the left.

The rough foam is no longer the first thing you notice overhead. The ceiling has a much cleaner, more finished look, the floor is cleared and covered again, and the shelves and checkout desk are back in place.

Those empty shelves might not look like much to someone else, but to me, they hold possibilities. I can picture my creations finding their places, the displays coming together, and this little space becoming the welcoming shop I’ve been imagining.

It isn’t the finished picture yet. There are still shelves to fill and personal touches to add. But seeing Nana’s Mini Mall look like a shop again is a milestone worth celebrating!

This journey is a reminder that progress doesn’t always look like moving forward every single day. Sometimes it looks like moving things out, fixing what needs attention, and starting again with a little more knowledge and a whole lot of determination.

Behind Creative Things By Gen LLC is a real person building a real dream. That means sharing the exciting moments, but also the messy ones. They’re part of the story, too.

I’m not announcing a Grand Opening date in this update. For now, I’m celebrating this transformation and taking the next steps toward getting everything settled back in.

Thank you for cheering me on through the setbacks, the fresh starts, and all the little victories along the way. Your encouragement means so much.

From a foamy mess to a fresh start, Nana’s Mini Mall is coming back together, one step at a time. 💕

With love from Nana HQ,
Gen
